An Icy Year

Is it just me?  It seems it is.  Every time I start on a new rant about how the NHL is ruining my year and how I wish the owners and players would come to an agreement on profit sharing and just start playing some hockey, I hear a chorus of “WHO CARES!?” from my friends.  I cannot be the only one in Syracuse that is missing hockey this year.  I refuse to believe that.

I am a NY Rangers fan.  Coming off a huge season last year, in which they finished second in the league after the regular season, and were two lousy wins away from playing for the Stanley Cup, I was so jazzed about this season.  They traded for Columbus’ sniper Rick Nash in the off-season, which may just be the piece of the puzzle needed to make them the #1 contender. Instead, we don’t get to see Nash lighting the lamp; we get a lockout.  And every time I complain, I find no sympathy!

I could not suffer in silence anymore, so I figured I’d vent here.  I need to vent my hatred for the Pens, Flyers, Devils and Islanders.  I need to have that hopeful feeling that I get every year around April when the playoffs start.  Quite simply, I need some hockey!

Watch what Nash can do here and see why I’m not a happy camper this year:
